As a frontrunner in decarbonization solutions
Promoting society’s decarbonization

ENERES, which upholds the corporate vision of “Creating new relationships between people and energy to realize a prosperous future society,” reached its 20th anniversary in 2024. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the many people who have supported us up to now.

Over these 20 years, the environment surrounding energy has changed dramatically.

The major catalysts for this change were “electricity liberalization” and “the shift toward renewable energy as a main power source.”

Through electricity liberalization, the “society where electricity can be freely chosen” that ENERES has aimed for since its founding has been realized, and now consumers can choose electricity that matches their values in terms of price, auxiliary services, and added value. Furthermore, with Japan’s “2050 Carbon Neutral Declaration” as a backdrop, Japan has steered toward making renewable energy its main power source, and over these 20 years, the presence of “electricity that does not emit CO2” and “renewable energy” has increased dramatically.

After going through these changes, now the energy supply chain has transformed significantly, and we face a new challenge of balancing the expansion of renewable energy with stable electricity supply. ENERES will contribute to solving social issues through supporting corporate decarbonization efforts and providing balancing capacity through the aggregation of distributed power sources. Also, as an industry pioneer that has taken on challenges in power supply-demand management agency services and VPP business, we will continue to challenge ourselves in developing cutting-edge technologies and new business schemes.

Furthermore, to continue growing as an organization for the next 10, 20, and 30 years, we will also focus on creating an environment where employees can work energetically and with pride. We will listen to the voices of our stakeholders, including employees, to become an organization where each individual can utilize their uniqueness and work proudly as a member of society.

Carbon dioxide emissions trading will begin in full scale in 2026. A system (supply-demand adjustment market) that utilizes household storage batteries and electric water heaters as balancing capacity is also scheduled to begin. The era where society as a whole supports the transition to renewable energy as a main power source and ensures stable supply is just around the corner.

Going forward, we will continue to create businesses that resonate with all stakeholders including customers, society, and employees, while adding ingenuity through partnerships beyond the energy sector to progress toward realizing a decarbonized society.
