ENERES Co., Ltd. and ENERES Power Marketing Co., Ltd. have concluded a contract with Geo Holdings Corporation regarding offsite PPA using solar power generation.
An offsite PPA involves three parties – the power generator, the power retailer, and the power user (consumer) – entering into a long-term power purchase agreement. Offsite PPAs are attracting attention as a scheme meeting the needs of companies wanting to securely promote switching to renewable energy and power generators wanting to secure generation business revenue.
In this contract, ENERES enters as a renewable energy supplier having previously concluded power purchase agreements with power generators, and will supply renewable energy to Geo Holdings facilities in Tohoku and Chugoku areas through the power retailer EPM. By supplying EPM’s power source-linked renewable energy menu^[1] for power shortages in the offsite PPA, effective 100% renewable energy implementation is achieved for Geo Holdings (Tohoku and Chugoku areas).
