ENERES Co., Ltd. has joined the UN-led international initiative “24/7 Carbon Free Energy Compact” (hereafter, 24/7 CFE Compact) with the aim of further contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society through its energy business.

[About 24/7 CFE Compact]
“24/7 CFE” is the concept of using carbon-free electricity (primarily from renewable energy sources) with zero CO2 emissions in real-time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rather than “considering that” carbon-free electricity has been used through environmental certificates as has been done traditionally, all time periods throughout 24 hours and 365 days are covered by carbon-free electricity. Following its proposal by Google USA in 2018, it spread worldwide, and in 2021, the UN led the establishment of the international initiative “24/7 CFE Compact” aimed at realizing and promoting 24/7 CFE. More than 160 organizations worldwide have joined, including the U.S. federal government, U.S. IT companies like Google, educational institutions, energy companies, and investment companies/financial institutions.

[ENERES and 24/7 CFE]
ENERES develops and provides various solutions that contribute to carbon neutrality by utilizing the latest digital technology. One of these is power and environmental value tracking technology using blockchain. In September 2023, using this tracking technology, we successfully materialized and converted to J-Credits the environmental value of electricity self-consumed in homes and other locations. Additionally, we are working on DX in the energy sector, such as utilizing AI and IoT for demand forecasting, renewable energy generation forecasting, and distributed energy resource management.

ENERES believes that taking on the challenge of realizing 24/7 CFE is extremely valuable in advancing the expansion of renewable energy and achieving carbon neutrality. We decided to participate in the 24/7 CFE Compact with the aim of developing schemes and systems that correspond to its basic principles and providing solutions to our customers in the future.
