Launch of “J-Credit Support Service”Creating, purchasing, and selling credits for the environmental value of PV self-consumption
2025.06.02ENERES Co., Ltd.
Starting June 2, Eneres Co., Ltd. will begin providing the J-Credit Support Service, which supports the creation, purchase, and sale of J-Credits, Japan’s certified carbon credits.
We provide comprehensive support for J-Credit transactions, from “J-Credit creation support” that converts environmental value generated by self-consumption of solar power (PV) electricity into J-Credits, to “J-Credit distribution support” that handles the purchase and sale of J-Credits.

■Hidden Environmental Value
There are several methods for introducing renewable energy, but most commonly adopted methods to date are cases where companies own PV equipment themselves and use the generated electricity for their own operations, or cases where power generation operators install PV equipment on company premises and the company uses the generated electricity (onsite PPA). While more companies are introducing these systems for economic benefits, in many cases, only the electrical value is used, and the “environmental value” of using renewable energy to reduce CO2 emissions remains hidden.
■Supporting those who want to Create, Sell, and Buy with J-Credit Support Service
The J-Credit Support Service helps companies make this hidden environmental value visible and convert it into J-Credits.
Normally, creating J-Credits requires procedures from project registration to monitoring, report creation, and application, which takes time and effort.
However, Eneres registered “Eneres PV Value Creation Project (Eneres RE Consortium)”[1] in 2020 to convert environmental value generated by PV self-consumption into J-Credits. Furthermore, we have been selected as an operator of the Ministry of the Environment’s MRV support system[2] and operate our original J-Credit creation support and management system eneGX MRV’S[3]. By using the J-Credit Support Service, customers can create J-Credits simply by registering with the Eneres RE Consortium and monitoring PV self-consumption amounts.
Additionally, the J-Credit Support Service supports everything from planning decarbonization promotion using J-Credits to actual J-Credit sales and J-Credit invalidation. We also purchase J-Credits that are already owned.
■Future Development of J-Credit Support Service
The Carbon Credit Market was established in 2023, and this March, Tokyo Metropolitan Government began operating Japan’s first local government carbon credit trading system. Furthermore, with the planned full-scale start of emissions trading through GX-ETS (Emissions Trading System) in fiscal 2026, the introduction of carbon pricing is expanding. In response to these trends, demand for J-Credits is expected to increase further.
Eneres aims to develop a “carbon credit trading market” that responds to diverse needs by expanding the types of “environmental value” converted to J-Credits and the types of carbon credits handled.
By providing this service, Eneres will contribute to maximizing the value and promoting the distribution of renewable energy, contributing to making renewable energy the main power source and realizing a decarbonized society.
