ENERES Co., Ltd.

ENERES Co., Ltd. has applied for and been selected for the public solicitation for the “FY2025 Technology Development Project for Ensuring Flexibility and Optimization of Power Systems to Reduce Integrated Costs of Power Sources (Japan Version Connect & Manage 2.0) / R&D Item 1: Flexibility Technology Development Utilizing DERs (hereinafter, this project)” conducted by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (hereinafter, NEDO), jointly with ten parties including TEPCO Power Grid, Inc. The project period is scheduled to run from July 2025 to March 2027.

■ About This Project
This project will proceed with studies toward social implementation and expand future application areas, based on issues such as “advanced DER operation” and “safety net measures for DER non-response” that were identified in the “Distributed Energy Resource Control Technology Development for Grid Congestion Mitigation (FLEX DER Project)” up until last fiscal year.
In addition, we will also study mechanisms to mitigate grid congestion using DERs and maintain supply-demand balance while linking DERs with grid operations to achieve overall optimization.

■ ENERES’s Role in This Project
ENERES will participate in the “Establishment of Grid Congestion Mitigation Technology Utilizing Flexibility (FLEX-DER Study)” working group of this project as an aggregator that controls DERs such as low-voltage resources. We aim to utilize DERs such as large numbers of residential storage batteries and Hybrid Hot Water Systems installed in local grid areas to mitigate grid congestion, and we will verify the effects of managing and controlling them as aggregated groups through field demonstrations.
