Sumitomo Heavy Industries Modern, Ltd., ENERES Co., Ltd., and ENERES Power Marketing Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of ENERES, began operating an off-site PPA (physical) utilizing surplus power from solar power generation on November 1, 2025.

Power generated by self-consumption solar power generation equipment normally cannot be fed back into the power grid. Therefore, even if surplus power that exceeds self-consumption is generated, it loses the opportunity to be utilized, and it is not uncommon for the power generation potential of renewable energy to not be fully utilized.
The feature of this off-site PPA is that surplus power generated by power generation equipment that was originally installed solely for self-consumption is utilized at a different location. This is a system that maximizes the capacity of solar power generation equipment without waste.

In this scheme that utilizes surplus power, predicting the amount of surplus power is extremely important. Predicting and utilizing surplus power through an off-site PPA requires not only power generation predicting but also demand forecasting at the installation site, demanding complex and timely predicting technology, which we achieved by applying ENERES’s proprietary supply-demand management technology, one of our strengths.
